Sure, he’s funny, but is Bo Burnham’s music actually good?

When Bo Burnham broke out back in the early days of YouTube — his first viral video, from 2006, showed him in his childhood bedroom, performing an original song about how his whole family thinks he’s gay — his music rarely felt like more than a vehicle designed to carry his comedy.

A kind of rinky-dink show tune minus the show, “My Whole Family…” offered little in the way of a memorable melody, nor was its arrangement, plunked out by the teenage comedian on a cheap keyboard, anything to savor. The song had clever (if callow) rhymes, to be

Frank Pugliano Sr. of Washington Township doesn’t let the grass grow under his feet.

The new centenarian remains almost entirely self-sufficient, including handling his weekly lawn-mowing duties on his own.

More than 500 years ago, Michelangelo completed perhaps his life’s crowning masterpiece: ethereal, larger-than-life frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel that depict such grandiose stories as the creation of man. They have been called “a transcendent work of genius,” and continue to influence and inspire artists centuries later.

And now, for less than 20 bucks, you can catch a glimpse of them in an old, empty mill building in west Charlotte.

Of course, it’s not the real thing. “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition” is on display in west Charlotte’s Savona Mill until July 31.
